If you think you might be interested in joining the band, or just want to come along and see what we do feel free!
We practice from 7:30 til 9pm on a Monday evening, at the Methodist Church (near the war memorial) we practice all year round, with a break during the summer and Christmas holidays. Even if you don't have your own instrument, we have spare's you can play! Why not come along one Monday and see what you think!
We play several concerts throughout the year, at places such as Keynsham Memorial Park, Victoria Park in Bath, and other parks, as well as at events and occasions. We do not enter competitions as we like to play for the fun of it, with as little pressure as possible!
Every year we do one main Concert, keep a look out for this years event and pop along and see what we do!
We play all types of music, fun music from films, such as Jurassic Park or Disney. Popular classics such as Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, or Can't help falling in Love by Elvis Presley. Marches, such as Lexington, and beautiful concert pieces such as Ashokan Farewell or Encanto Overture. We have a whole library of all sorts of differnet music!
Our music starts around a grade 2 standard and goes up to around a grade 5 standard piece. We would suggest that people who join the band are over the age of 8.
Coming to band is more of a social gathering than a band practice! We do have a social event every year where the band gets together just to have fun, we usually hire a skittle alley for an afternoon!
